The company Slovenian State Forests, Slovenski državni gozdovi d. o. o. (SiDG – ), which is owned by the Republic of Slovenia, manages the state forests. As the largest forest manager in Slovenia, it oversees around 236,000 hectares of forest area, representing approximately 20% of all Slovenian forests.
The company’s core operating principles are:
⦁ Sustainability is the foundation of the company’s operations. With this principle, SiDG preserves forests for future generations and ensures stable returns from the forest, while considering the forest as an ecosystem.
⦁ Close-to-nature management and imitating natural processes in the development of forest ecosystems guide the company in forest development, preserving biodiversity, and strengthening forest ecosystems.
⦁ Multifunctional management ensures that the forest is not only a source of raw materials but also fulfills ecological and social functions and provides ecosystem services for society.
The company promotes wood processing and the development of the domestic wood industry, which is its key business partner.
SiDG also carries out certain public mandates, contributing to the increase of forest area owned by the Republic of Slovenia and resolving ownership relations with other stakeholders.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
The purpose of the SiDG website redesign is to provide a better user experience for the growing number of visitors. To achieve this, we also focused on optimizing the website’s performance and responsiveness.
The website’s and portal’s backend application is built using the .NET Core framework with the C# programming language, while the editorial section is managed with the Umbraco CMS.
The website design is fully tailored to the client’s wishes — every detail is crafted to reflect their vision and comply with their corporate visual identity (CVI) guidelines. With an innovative approach and careful attention to detail, we have created a user experience that combines aesthetics with functionality.
